A robust section stays good when Reynolds number, Mach number and transition move a little. Optimize the expected value or the worst case over that neighborhood, then recompute the winner as a real polar.

A surrogate is a fit to a set of real aerodynamic evaluations. It can propose the next shape. The shape you keep is one you recompute with the real solver, inside the range the fit was trained on.

A model can propose a shape or a polar only inside the cases it was trained on, and only inside the geometry constraints you still enforce. The number you publish is a solver or a test, not a network output.

A wing section has to work at more than one lift coefficient. Multi-point optimization states those points, weights them on purpose, and refuses a cruise bucket that cannot climb or land.

A morphing section changes camber or thickness in flight so the same wing can sit in more than one polar. Each shape is still an airfoil you have to analyse. The mechanism does not create lift by itself.

An automated workflow accepts a coordinate file, rejects geometry that fails the gate, runs a declared method at declared conditions, and stores the polar with its inputs. A run that needed a human to nudge a hidden setting is not automated.
