Wind-tunnel testing
Lift is usually a balance reading. Drag is a balance reading or a wake survey. Both are useless until dynamic pressure, angle and the wall corrections are part of the same record.

Data reduction turns voltages into coefficients. The test condition is the Reynolds number, the Mach number, the trip and the wall corrections — not the fan setting you remember.

A coefficient inherits the uncertainty of the load, the dynamic pressure and the area. Repeatability is the scatter you measured. Bias is the alignment and the corrections you did not scatter.

A thin film of pigmented oil follows the surface shear. It piles up where the shear vanishes, which is separation, and it often changes texture where the boundary layer becomes turbulent.

A tap reads static pressure at a point. Integrated, the taps are a lift and a moment. They miss whatever happened between the taps, and the leading-edge peak is exactly where the gaps hurt most.

Validation is a sequence: same geometry, same Re, same Mach, same trip, then lift slope and zero-lift angle, then drag and moment, and only then the stall. Matching a drag curve by tuning a transition knob is not the end of that list.
